"between" picks up an intermediate state. The plants were taken out of the ground shortly before the photo was taken and photographed with their roots. They show the fragility and beauty of the plants at the moment of their uprooting.

Immediately after my 96 year old neighbor, who was a very important person to me, entered a nursing home, I took photographs in her apartment. Her apartment was a place of retreat for me in my childhood. The photos show careful still-lifes that tell something about this person and her life, memories, captured in excerpts, and details that point to the already incipient disappearance of this place.

The photo series is related to the video work "remembering brühl". In the course of my preoccupation with the demolition of the Brühl ensemble in Leipzig in 2007, I also created these works, which focus on the structure of the building and the legacies of the former residents - such as lamps and wallpaper.
